Obama Nominates Rabid Anti-gunner to Head the ATF

It was not a good sign that Barack Obama kept his nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives a secret until after the midterm election --- and then quickly announced that anti-gun zealot Andrew F. Traver would be named to fill the slot.

After being blasted before November 2's election by the liberal New York Times for failing to beef up the ATF by appointing a director --- for fear of the wrath of the "gun lobby" --- Obama gets right past the election and, presto chango, a nominee appears. How 'bout that?

And not just any nominee.

As special agent in charge of Chicago's ATF field division, Traver had taken the lead in calling for a ban on semiautomatic firearms.

And Chicago, of course, has been the epicenter of anti-gun government activism. It is not surprising that Traver has also been active in the virulently anti-gun International Association of Chiefs of Police, which has worked to empower Handgun Control-type activists and has commissioned panels to:

* support one-gun-a-month and lock-up-your-safety laws, as well as "ballistic fingerprinting" files on all firearms;

* espouse an "effective" ban on .50-caliber firearms, and a redefinition of "armor-piercing" ammunition that could effectively ban handgun use;

* mandate gun-destruction policies for law enforcement and enhanced funding to go after guns;

* prohibit all private gun sales and make "prohibited persons" out of a much wider variety of persons committing simple misdemeanors;

* back a repeal of the Tiahrt amendment; and,

* allow federal health and safety oversight of the firearms industry (through agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Food and Drug Administration).

It is disconcerting that ANY organization espousing these views would be taken seriously. That an activist in such an organization would be put in charge of the ATF is truly troubling.

ACTION: Contact your Senators. Urge them to support a filibuster of the Traver nomination to head the ATF. You can use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center to send your Senators the pre-written e-mail message below.

I was as elated to see so many smug Democrats and a few Republicans loose their seats as the Americans who went out and voted Tuesday.

However, being the realist that I am, we still have many of the same incumbents in office who helped get our nation to where it is today.

Obamacare and the National health care database legislation should be on the forefront of legislation that is repealed.

We don't need it changed, we need it removed from the books period.

The American people also need their rights returned. So while the newly elected Republicans are talking so highly of the Constitution and patriotic Americans, they need to take a deep look at Legislation that has been passed since 2001.

One such republican will be the New Speaker of the House.

• Voted YES on allowing electronic surveillance without a warrant
• Voted YES on continuing intelligence gathering without civil oversight.
• Voted NO on requiring FISA warrants for wiretaps in US, but not abroad.
• Voted Yes on USA Patriot Act

You get the point. He spoke big about Freedoms, Liberty, the Constitution and being Patriotic when in reality he has not done much to protect or preserve them.

Legislation, such as the Patriot Act, Real ID, military Commissions Act and the like. Americans are tired of elected representatives ignoring their oath of office.

It is up to We the People to keep a close eye on those officials and make certain that they do the job they were elected to do or we throw them out as well.

No more excuses, you have control of the House and if Obama does not bend to the Will of the people, he too will be looking for a job in 2012 just like Republican Herbert Hoover did in 1932.

We know the Democrats will not work to preserve our Liberties, RINO's are no different. If the Republicans cannot get back to their conservative roots, then we may just need to replace both parties with individuals who are willing to step up and do the job they were elected to do.

The Banks, like Bank of America, JP Morgan and others are stopping the foreclosures of hundreds of thousands across the country.

Some of the banks have been found to have hired homeless people, laid off waitresses and the like to sign off on the mortgages without proper training to ensure that the paperwork was all done properly.

People who were being foreclosed on were starting to challenge their foreclosures by making the banks prove they actually owned the title to the home they were foreclosing on.

Because most banks and mortgage companies trade or sell off titles, they had a hard time of proving ownership and in many cases the home owners were able to prevent their home from being foreclosed.

But are the banks themselves stopping the foreclosures under the guise of checking the paperwork or are they doing what they can to prevent a huge inventory of empty houses hitting the the already saturated housing market?

Obviously flooding the market with more homes would decrease the value of those homes and lower the prices. The banks would stand loosing billions.

In 2009, Bank of American sad "We do not hold foreclosed properties off the market." In that same year we read about a "Shadow Inventory" of homes that the banks refused to put on the market.

In January 2010, "Bank of America to release homes into the Nevada housing market..It's part of the so-called "phantom inventory" of foreclosed homes being held by banks as they work out loan modifications and negotiate short sales."

This appears to be a manipulation of the housing market and should be investigated. Yes, investigate their sloppy paperwork and give justice to those who have had their homes unjustly foreclosed, but also investigate the banks and mortgage companies themselves from what could be nothing more than a price manipulation scheme.

Most Liberals and Conservatives agree, Obamacare sucks, will cost too much money and is not what America needs. The Republicans say they will get ObamaCare Repealed?

Let's humor ourselves for a moment and say the Republicans keep their campaign promises and are successful at repealing ObamaCare.

Many Americans don't even know about the National HealthCare Database that was passed with Obama's job creation stimulus package that has also proved to be a waste of taxpayer dollars.

The National HealthCare Database requires all medical providers to input all patient data into the massive database beast by 2014.

That means all information about you from birth to death will be included in this database.

Of course, most people know by now that their is no such thing as a secure database. PrivacyRights.org has been compiling data breaches since 2005 the same year that Real ID was passed and as of today 510,584,595 RECORDS BREACHED from 1,767 DATA BREACHES made public since 2005. These are only the breaches that were made public! God only knows how many went unreported. Places that were breached include, banks, schools, colleges, DMV's, healthcare facilities, DOD, Pentagon, congressional computers, Veterans Hospitals and the like.

Health records have always been something Americans have believed they had the right to keep private. We supposedly have laws that protect them.

We even have that little document called the US Constitution. Here is the Fourth Amendment:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

There may be things in your medical history you don't care that anyone knows, there may be some embarrassing medical history. Or you may just think its no ones business except you and your doctor and perhaps your loved ones.

If you don't want your medical history to be in the database, their is no opt out option, the only option you have is to not go to the doctor, dentist, optometrist or any other healthcare provider. I suppose if enough Americans did that and died as a result it would help reduce the costs of Obamacare.

We all know that government bureaucrats and not doctors will be looking at our health history and determining what care we will or will not be getting under ObamaCare.

If Obamacare is repealed then so should the National healthcare database.

Be sure to make this an issue with those running for office before you vote in November. REPEAL National HealthCare Database with ObamaCare.

The news is coming out, the polls are in OBama sucks and will most likely loose any chance for re-election in 2012 along with the remaining sellout Democrats and Republicans who have out spent all previous administrations combined all the way back top President Washington.

But this news isn't anything knew to the people of America. Obama's lies er rhetoric as he likes to call it have not been forgotten by those who supported him and those who voted for him because they just couldnt stand the last bunch of RINO Republicans controlling the house and senate during the Bush years.

That being said, who cares about Obama at this point? We have to focus on helping those running against incumbents to rid ourselves of those who have defied the will of the people. I have never once in my working history been able to completely ignore the will of my employer and think that I would continue to work for them.

Well the same goes for all branches of the Legislative body. We must focus our attention on those candidates that will stand up to their oath of office and preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and our liberties.

Most Americans just want to live their lives and be left alone to raise their families as they so choose. They don't want to be told they must buy health care or partake in ObamaCare, they are tired of bailing out big banks and corporations like GM and they are sick of all the taxes and other regulations that prevent them from the pursuit of happiness.

Americans do not want to be spied upon by their own government under the guise of protection as though they are some type of criminal. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

They also do not want any form of national ID Card ie Real ID, Pass ID or the like. They want to be able to Live Free.

In order to do this Americans must unite in one voice and say "Enough Already!" and vote the collective bums out of office.

It has been a wild few days. Our grassroots movement is under attack from Washington D.C. They have called us mobs, un-American and fake grassroots. They have decided to attack their critics rather than just admit their plan to nationalize all health care is very unpopular.

Our North Carolina "Hands off My Health Care bus tour was recently featured on CNN and in the New York Times.

Yet the best account of what our grassroots effort is all about comes from North Carolina TownHall.com contributor Jon Sanders who we were honored to have on the trip.

What I Saw at the Healthcare Rallies

I have just gotten off the Patients First bus after touring North Carolina with Americans for Prosperity and speaking out against Pres. Obama's healthcare legislation. I spoke to thousands upon thousands of my fellow North Carolinians in small towns and big cities, and in between stops, watched the news and heard what the president, the Democrat leaders in Congress and their mouthpieces in the media said about us.

I make them this challenge: Go to the rallies and say that. You really think attendees were bused in by Big Insurance? Watch them arrive. Watch senior citizens be helped out of their vehicles and into their walkers to stand in the hot sun. Dare you call them angry mobsters? See the veterans who served in Europe, Japan, Korea and Vietnam walk in on uncertain knees to take yet another stand against statism. Look them in the eyes and call them Nazis, if you can.

Go to the rallies and say that. If nothing else, good heavens, if you can't publicly change your position and back down from your smears, then at least you can test your sense of shame and your capacity to lie.

Go to the rallies. Show you have more courage than nearly every other congressman, senator, staff member and president in D.C. At every rally I went to, without fail, all fifteen of them across the eastern half of North Carolina, the same thing happened. AFP president Dallas Woodhouse would urge the audience to call their congressmen and Sen. Kay Hagan, and from one end of the crowd to the other we'd hear the frustrated pleas, "We've tried but they're not answering!"

Oh, but the bus and the rallies were supposedly paid for by Big Insurance. You see, in the twisted world of political spincraft, if it can be said, it can be believed. But here's what they want you to believe. Big Evil Corporate Entities tricked a bunch of us freedom-minded people to leave our families for several days to drive hundreds of miles across the state in a bus getting sunburned and hoarse, and then they bused in thousands upon thousands of the unlikeliest Nazi thug mobsters ever assembled to attend our rallies and sign our petitions. That's what they have to say so their elected representatives can justify ignoring them.

Well, don't you believe it.

If this had been some slick, orchestrated, fake-o campaign, we'd have been in nice, air-conditioned, comfy-seated convention halls. We wouldn't have been dripping sweat standing in the parking lots of Harley Davidson (New Bern) or Capt. Bill's (Morehead City) or Chick-Fil-A (Wilmington) or Bill Ellis Barbecue (Wilson) or Brigg's Hardware (Raleigh) or Piggly-Wiggly (Sanford, moved to the K-Mart lot because the crowd was too big) or something called The Climbing Place (Fayetteville).

No, we weren't at those places to put up a front for big industry. We were there because private business owners wanted us there to speak in their communities because they cared so much about the issue. You remember the issue, don't you? You know, the issue that the Democrats with their "message managers" and media campaign wish to distract people away from: their attempt to take over the nation's healthcare system.

We were there also because private individuals cared so much as to send the money to get us there. And we were greeted by hundreds upon hundreds of people at each stop. They were there because they care so much about keeping this nation's healthcare system free from becoming a state-run nightmare that views individuals not as patients to be cured, but as costs to be cut.

They were there not because they think everything's fine with health care, but because they think Obama's proposed cure is far worse than the disease. They want to preserve the best healthcare system on the planet from being destroyed just because there are problems with paying for it. They want to keep the system free from a government takeover so that different solutions can be found, many different choices and innovations may be offered, and different political ideas can arise, ones that rely on government allowing more freedom and removing obstacles rather than the other way around. That's how Americans have historically overcome problems.

And here is another thing that happened at every rally. People came up to us trying to hand us five-, ten-, twenty-dollar bills just to help. They were so thankful we were there speaking to them, encouraging them and showing them how they could speak up for themselves. Their own elected representatives, remember, have been avoiding them. We had been turning those gifts down because the bus tour wasn't about fundraising. But after a while we realized that we should start allowing it.

What a picture — while the powerful and cowardly in Washington were busy running from them and slandering them as bought-and-paid-for angry thugs, they were gracious and smiling and individually volunteering to give. I'm talking about little old ladies and proud veterans and people in wheelchairs with oxygen masks and mothers and fathers and Sunday school teachers and bikers and surfers and God knows who all else. Any Democrat who truly cared about diversity would eat his Sunday New York Times out of sheer jealousy.

That's why I say go to the rallies. For me, it was an honor. After speaking in Jacksonville in the parking lot of the Marina Cafe, we were eating our lunch there (mine was a yummy fried soft-shell crab sandwich), and a woman came in, handed event coordinator Chad Adams forty dollars and squeezed his hand. She had left the rally, went to an ATM, and came back. We were amazed. Humbled.

So I say go to the rallies. Go for her and for the many, many people like her. They have kept this country great. They have sustained her through some of her greatest challenges. How dare anyone in this government of, by and for the people put her in danger of being flagged a "waste" on some bureaucrat's spreadsheet. How dare they lie about her and her concerns. I don't think you could if you saw what I saw at the rallies.
Do right by her. Do right by them. Address their concerns, junk the bill, and stop the character assassination of upstanding Americans.
Go to the rallies and tell the truth.

Yes, I said it and I mean it. Many nations have tried the socialists health care approach and have found it does not work.

Since the elderly are most likely to get ill , then they are the ones who will be left without the care.

In a socialist health care system, only treatments that are cost effective. Since many elderly suffer diseases and illnesses that are debilitating then they will not be able to produce and income to put back into the socialist system, so their care will be deemed too costly and denied.

Sounds surreal? Sounds obscene? Well it is but it is also reality. God help us if this mess passes. Pelosi is pushing and arm twisting for votes and is still looking to pass this before the August Recess.

We the people must use our voices in unity and tell members of congress We will not allow you to keep your job if you support socialist health care.
