Senator John McCain has introduced S. 3002, the Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA).

This bill will . . .

* control your ability to use vitamins,
* for the benefit of the major sports leagues

The following welfare queens endorsed McCain's bill within hours of its introduction . . .

* The National Football League
* The National Basketball Association
* Major League Baseball
* National Hockey League
* The NCAA
* The Professional Golf Association
* The U.S. Olympic Committee

Nearly all of these entities receive tax funding to build the stadiums they play in. Now they want to make your supplements more expensive so that none of their rich athletes will accidentally ingest anything banned by league rules. But you can take action to kill this bill.

It's crucial to understand that most vitamins and supplements aren't drugs. Your food that grows in the ground, or on the hoof, is full of these substances. That's one reason why previous government attempts to label these nutritional supplements as drugs, and regulate them, have met with fierce public opposition. Indeed . . .

Prior to the Internet, one such government power grab generated what may have been the biggest barrage of letters to Congress in American history. That power grab failed, because public pressure works!

Instead of regulating supplements Congress passed the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 DSHEA).

That law states that most nutritional substances do not require FDA pre-approval before going to market, and cannot be re-classified as drugs.

Now, John McCain seeks to repeal key provisions of the DSHEA. Yet in his remarks introducing S.3002 . . .

* he provides no evidence that the relatively free-market approach of the DHSEA has failed

* he cites no evidence that dietary supplements(PDF), consumed by 150 million Americans, are unsafe or a threat to public health

And the DSSA is completely unnecessary to address the (minor) steroid problem. In fact, the problems McCain does cite were already addressed by current law, which has not been competently enforced by the FDA!

* the FDA already has authority to ban any substance containing anabolic steroids
* and products are already required to list all their ingredients

To make matters worse, ". . . the bill reverses "common law, which assumes all is legal unless restricted. DSSA would allow only what is permitted to be legal."

The DSSA is nothing but regulatory "corporate welfare" for major sports leagues (and multi-national drug companies). It will put the FDA in the business of helping the NFL, Major League Baseball, etc. enforce their substance policies -- at your expense.

This bill will deny you freedom of choice, place expensive burdens on small enterprises, and do nothing to protect your health. It will actually make you less healthy, by causing nutritional substances to be less available and more expensive.

Please use these talking points to tell your Representative and your two Senators to oppose S. 3002, John McCain's Dietary Supplement Safety Act.

Yes, Obamma said "You Have No Reasonable Expectation Of Privacy". Does he want all of our movements tracked? Does he want everything we do tracked? Open medical, cell phones, health, financial and education records. Everywhere we go and everything we buy should be an open book?

I find it a bit ironic that obama has not releases his school records or birth records, yet he expects all Americans to do so. This type of attitude and mindset is that of a dictator and not a leader. He needs to lead by example if he wants the people to follow.

Meanwhile all children born in the Untied States are forced to submit DNA for testing. This DNA is given to other agencies, including the federal government without parental consent to be stored in a permanent national database.

Now, rember people, Obama is a Constitutional Scholar. He knows the Constitution and how to manipulate it, but we have some clearly defined rights under that document.

U.S. Constitution: Fourth Amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Under this document, we have the right to private phone calls, we have the right to keep our documents of any kind under our own control, but it seems more and more politicians are using it as a document to loaaht rather than to protect and defend.

2010 will be the year to elect those who will honor this document and not try to twist it for their own agendas or the agendas of their handlers. The real change is coming and don't be surprised to see a huge shift in numbers in both the house and senate this year along with state parties as more and more Americans not only show their disdain for the current political agenda but are getting involved at every level of government to help bring this nation back to the glories of limited government as it was intended and away from the intrusive monster it has become.

Three provisions of the so-called USA PATRIOT ACT are set to expire on February 28. You can learn more about them from our February 10 Dispatch.

Instead of letting these unneeded provisions lapse, Congress will likely extend them, perhaps 30 days, or maybe to the end of 2010. BUT THIS COULD HAPPEN AS SOON AS TODAY.

Worse, Congressional leaders will probably insert this extension in unrelated legislation. This is cowardly. This issue deserves an up-or-down vote on its own merits (or lack thereof).

Please express your anger about this by telling Congress to pass the One Subject At A Time Act.

My understanding is that Majority Leader Reid and Speaker Pelosi intend to attach the PATRIOT ACT renewal measure to an unrelated bill, at the last minute. This is wrong. The renewal deserves its own, separate vote.

It seems obvious to me that Reid and Pelosi fear . . .

* a floor debate in which Republicans will shamelessly attack Democrats for being "soft on terror"
* that civil libertarians will be angry if some Democrats vote for the extension

But these are exactly the kinds of debates, and stands, we need our representatives to have and to take. Plus, Reid and Pelosi are being silly if they think civil libertarians won't be angry about the extension being passed as a part of unrelated legislation. This will increase our anger, not diffuse it.

Please make the following case to Reid and Pelosi . . .

* the Constitutionality and effectiveness of these provisions deserve to be debated in both chambers

* this is a debate that the anti-PATRIOT side will win in the court of public opinion

* if Democrats lose in the fall, it will definitely not be because they oppose these Patriot Act extensions

* combining unrelated legislation will increasingly be a reason for voters to switch control of Congress to another party

I demand that you oppose ANY bill that contains a Patriot Act extension, no matter how important you think the rest of the bill is. If the bill is really that important then the leadership will resubmit it without the unrelated Patriot Act provisions.

I also demand that you introduce DownsizeDC.org's One Subject At A Time Act to stop the corrupt and cowardly habit of combining unrelated bills into one package.

I hate to tell you, BUT the battle to stop the takeover of our health care is not over.

In 4 days, on February 25, President Obama will hold a "Health Care Summit" where he and Speaker Nancy Pelosi will unveil their "new" health care plan that they are currently writing in secret behind closed doors.

What a difference a day makes!

Before the January 19th election of Republican Scott Brown as United States Senator from Massachusetts, we were being told that ObamaCare would be crammed down our throats whether we liked it or not and that any effort to defeat this monstrosity was hopeless.

After Brown's election in socialistic Massachusetts sent shock waves through the liberal Democratic establishment, too many pro-gunners had assumed that we had won -- and that we could just stop fighting and go home.

But a football team doesn't leave the field and go home at half time, even if it has a healthy lead.

And Nancy Pelosi hasn't given up her efforts to socialize America's health care system and bring your private medical matters under strict government control. Fox News is reporting today that congressional leaders are working on a compromise.

Pelosi herself has said that, if the "gate" to ObamaCare is locked, she will climb over the fence -- or pole-vault over the wall -- or parachute to a liberal socialist victory.

Pelosi's only viable strategy is to get a reluctant House to pass the Senate's bribe-laden, Medicare-cutting, gun-banning bill -- but do so in conjunction with a "fix-it" bill which would pass the House at the same time under quickie "reconciliation" procedures.

We still have plenty of parliamentary tricks up our sleeves to try to block this. But the easiest way to bury ObamaCare once and for all is to get just one House member to switch his vote -- from supporting ObamaCare last fall to opposing it now.

The President's spokesman, Robert Gibbs, is boasting that they are one vote away from passing it in the House. So if we can switch one vote, we can take the "undead" ObamaCare bill and drive a stake through its heart, cut its head off at a midnight crossroads, shoot it with a silver bullet, put garlic around its neck, and bury it in a lead casket with a crucifix on the top. Congratulations on a tremendous victory on Tuesday! And thank you all for your help in getting Scott Brown elected to the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts.

Gun Owners of America was the first national gun lobby to endorse Brown, and with your aid, he was receiving more than one million dollars a day in his comeback win over anti-gun Martha Coakley.

With your help, Massachusetts -- the bluest of blue states -- has sent a message to Washington: take your ObamaCare bill and shove it!

By a vote of 52% to 47%, Massachusetts voters sent anti-ObamaCare candidate Scott Brown to the Senate -- defeating liberal icon Martha Coakley. And D.C. Democrats are beginning to understand that GOP victories in New Jersey and Massachusetts are merely a precursor to the electoral bloodbath still to come in November.

Obama-Pelosi still committed to passing socialized health care

But has the prospect of losing two hundred congressional seats caused Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi to back off of their efforts to shove this bill down the throats of the American people?

Amazingly, no.

It"s like you stepped in something. And, as much as you scrape and scrape the bottom of your shoe, you just can"t get rid of the smell.

At first, Pelosi's strategy was to get the House to pass the Senate version of ObamaCare -- verbatim -- so that the bill goes straight to the Oval Office, without having to break another filibuster in the Senate (which no longer has a filibuster-proof majority).

Thankfully, there are SO MANY rank-and-file Democrats who have revolted against this strategy (Democrats who are scared to death of losing their seats) that Rep. Pelosi yesterday said the Senate bill is not viable... WITHOUT CHANGES.

"I don't see the votes for [the Senate bill] at this time," Pelosi said. But note the words "at this time."

Despite huge obstacles, Pelosi trying to resurrect ObamaCare

Pelosi did say there's a "foundation in that bill" they can work with. So Pelosi may just try to pass one big fix-up bill -- using a "reconciliation" bill that will only need 51 votes when it goes to the Senate -- or simply break up the Senate bill into smaller pieces and send those parts to the President.

But remember that the Senate health care bill which Pelosi now seeks to fix contains the following problems:

* It will allow BATFE to troll a health/gun database in order to take away firearms from tens of millions of Americans;

* It is jam-packed with billions of dollars of bribes paid to buy the votes of sleazy senators;

* It will impose a host of new taxes, force Americans to buy expensive insurance which they can't afford, and increase insurance premiums in the individual market by 10 to 13%; and,

* It will continue the bankrupting of our country by increasing the deficit by half a trillion dollars, when the underhanded accounting tricks are discounted.

You can be sure that most, if not all, of these problems will be left untouched.

ACTION: So please contact your Representative. Tell him or her to vote against the bribe-filled Senate ObamaCare bill, and that no amount of "fixing" will make this bill acceptable. The Senate already tried to fix the gun problems in the bill but failed miserably.

The people of Massachusetts spoke loud and clear yesterday voting a Republican in the place of the late Sen Ted Kennedy, but is this a stand against socialism or is it something greater?

Americans are tired of being ignored, something many Democrat senators cannot seem to understand, but is turning the tide and voting Republican the answer?

If seems since the civil war Americans have been going back and forth voting for one of the two parties. A true wake up call needs to be sent to all elected officials. "Ignore us, the people you represent and YOU'RE FIRED!"

Clearly the two party system is not working. In many states, the independents out number democrats and republicans combined. They are the ones who can make a true difference by supporting candidates who will adhere to and uphold the Constitution and actully heading the words of their constituents.

So far, I have seen very few candidates run on this platform. The Libertarian Party is close, but the majority of candidates that congressman Ron Paul endorses also support some type of amnesty for pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens.

I have seen no Democrats or Republicans who run in support of this type of platform, However, I have seen people in the Constitution Party that does.

Is voting third party throwing away your vote? Certainly not. Voting for the lessor of two evils is till voting for evil. Voting for a person because they are in a certain party is a wasted vote, because you will not be satisfied with the results.

The old main stream media claim this special election as the beginning of a revolution in American Politics, but I see it as the return of the same old routine under a different name.

You want to stand up against Socialism, against tyranny and live Free then support a third party or run for office yourself.

The people of Massachusetts have a great opportunity to make history. They have the chance to turn the tide in American politics and have a voice of reason and someone who will adhere to the the Constitution as their oath of office requires them to do.

Face it, Democrates have had their hand at it for nearly 50 years and look where Massachusetts is today. They offer a health care program similar to the one Obama and Co want to be instilled upon the American populace.

Just like the same plan, the people of Mass. are forced to buy the insurance even if they do not want it. The health control bill has one major setback. The state cannot afford to run it. So Massachusetts needed an out and they found one by creating a national health care plan that would allow all of the people of the US suffer under the same sort of system.

The people have a clear choice, Another democrat, a Republican or an Independent name John Kennedy who heralds attributes our founding fathers would be proud to have. And it will be easy for the people to vote, they simply have to check the Box with the name Kennedy like they have been doing for the past 50 years. Do so and we all win.
